Manga

I have read the Azumanga omnibus up to 7 times. It has REALLY helped me get thru school and escape stress and people. The more i read the more love this manga. First of all the art!! I love seeing Azuma's art style change and evlove, it became simpler in some aspects, yet its still cute (Imo). The characters are introduced pretty quickly but i mean if schools startin, kids do come and go quick, at least where i live. The translation notes are also fun, i like leanring what words mean or the culture the book shows. I had no clue japanse students only had 3 years at school or that was diffent in any country. In america we have 4!! Recently as of writing this, ive been not feeling my best, life feels like its constantly moving at a fast pace i cannont catch up to. I have felt dissconnected from most peole in real life, and i don't know how to get back. But azumanga and its sister series Yotsuba remind me to appercatiewhat i have. My friend and my family, the weather when its just the right tempature, good food, and having fun. Thank you Azuma for making me relize that with your work.

Anime

The anime ran in 2002 and would end that same year, adapting most of the manga into 26 episodes. The anime is a good slice of life and in my and many others opinon, one of the most iconic and the best !

Some of my fav episodes would be: Graduation Ceremony, both of the cultral fest episodes, school trip, Sports Fest, 2nd Year, and Miss Sakaki. (But i love so many episodes ^0^)

The soundtrack of the anime really brings the slice of life vibe in and is a plesure to listen to.

Ova and pilot

Before we got the anime, in 2000 a short test pilot of sorts was made to gather intrest. It's called Azumanga Web Daioh and just like most azumanga stuff, is easily found on youtube. You would be able to pay to dowlaod the short, and after feedback, azumanga would be adapted into the anime we all know and love :3 Its just the girls playing with a camera then making a timecapsule, with some small desgins looking differnt

The OVA on the otherhand, has VERY HIGH QUALITY animation. And was a AD in movie theaters for the anime ! I adore this OVA and its a nice short !

Honary Yotsuba section

Yotsuba is a manga spanning from 2003 to present, with 15 volumes released and a 16th on the way ! (I believe) It follows the young Yotusba Kowai, her dad, neighbors, ect just hanging out as she learns new things (thats how i'd put it). Yotsuba unlike it's precurser, has and most likely never will have a anime. As Azuma believes it is not suited for one.

I own 5 volumes of yotusba, Yotsuba is fun protag and the art is adorable ! Some ppl desribe Yotsuba as a fusion of Osaka and Chiyo-Chan, and i kinda see it ? Only a little though . . .

Basically if you like Azumanga, good chance you'll like Yotsuba, and its good for more wholesome manga in genreal id say :D
